"Inside the gate, defend you will" or "You will defend inside the gate" or some such...that could point to A) A point of confrontation or B) That we are "defending the inside of her gate" but that is ENTIRELY too sexually charged for me to like the notion..

I think it is "Inside the gate", if my theory is correct about the new picture being answers to the poems, the first word of this poem certainly does look like "inside".
