Hmm. I'll be royally pissed if she's the only one who has access to whatever research materials there are. I mean, it's one thing for me to sit a thousand miles away while CuRoi goes after a dead drop, but it's entirely different if I have to depend on a fictional character to do all my information-seeking!
Should we be trying to find an Egyptian language book with gold and jewels?

Perhaps she means her father's National Geographics, the ones with all the naked rural Africans? I seem to remember that being a highlight of many childhoods . . .

This smells like some BS backtracking to me from the creators.
I mean, all the early videos pointed to a religon, and all the clues pointed towards thelema. wtf? surely the creators have to know that we (the fans) weren't going to accept this?
It seems like their initial (brilliant0 foundations laid and suspense created are been thrown out of the window because they're finding it diffiCULT to incorperate this 'religion' into the story.
I mean COME ON we know it was supposed to be thelema 'Crowley, equinox, the FRONT PAGE of this website, "theres a million different f***ing religions in this world...", the summer camps. Christ..
pfff...the low point of lg15 so far in my opinion, directly after the high point.
Jeez am I pissed.....
I agree.....I mentioned the Crowley shrine earlier. It was in a ton of vlogs and now they want us to forget about all that cuz they are having issues? Not our problem.

Not necessarily. There are theories in the relgion thread that mention Crowley's link to some established secret orders. He was pretty active beyond simply Thelema. And then, there's always the possibility that Bree, being the book-geek she is, found his history fascinating and the candles are just candles. (Unlikely, but ya never know!)

I refuse to do anymore research for fear of the anger/disappointment later on when the Creators try to make something as important as Crowley/Thelema disappear. They aren't the only ones who spend a lot of time on LG15 and they need to remember that when they do $#@% like this. Not Thelema? Bullsh*t.

I never actually thought it was Thelema, based on the people who were Thelemites (is that right?) who were offended by what they considered to be a misinformed portrayal of Thelema. I mentioned this at one point in the religion section. I believe that Bree thinks it's Thelema, but it's not. There are a lot of cults who claim to be a certain religion, when really they just take what they want from a religion and turn it into something to serve their own purposes. I guess we will have to see what Bree's reaction is to this to know for sure. But we shouldn't assume that she knows what Gemma knows about it all. She has probably been told it's a legitimate religion all along.

**sigh**
And now everyone had to learn ancient Egyptian? Bree had to learn Enochian (which isn't really even a spoken language). Can't these people just speak English like everybody else?!?
What are the chances of us being able to find out anything about a made up secret society that speaks Egyptian? This is actually almost making me wish for another stupid "Proving Science Wrong"...almost.
(didn't read it all yet, but) exactly.
My biggest hope is that Gemma's just lying to us.
Bree's been calling it her 'religion' all along! how could she not be aware of what it is?!

Hm. Your post reminded me of Catholicism and Opus Dei. Catholicism is the religion, and Opus Dei is an organization related to Catholicism that's been
accused of being a secret society. (Note: the Wikipedia article seems very pro-Opus Dei.) One of the people who was unveiled as being an anti-U.S. spy was also a member of Opus Dei -- sorry, I can't remember his name.
Maybe the relationship between the Order of Denderah and Bree's religion is similar.

The one safe generalization one can make is that Weishaupt's intent to maintain secrecy has worked; no two students of Illuminology have ever agreed totally about what the "inner secret" or purpose of the Order actually was (or is . . .). Trainer, I know you've been saying this for awhile, but I think after this video I'm finally willing to believe that you may have something here.

The original, not the modern Regardie reincarnation, but the Crowley-led secret society which was active right around 1888, I believe. (Two members: Rider and Waite, of the tarot card deck of the same name.) They were maniacal about secrecy -- I wonder if they had any date connection with either of the two dates we've narrowed down the ceremony to possibly be?
There would be a strong UK connection with the HOGD, too, which might explain Gemma.
This makes even more sense, missviolet.
Sigh. I think at this point I'm just gonna go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and wait for the next set of clues.

Hee! Don't let the creators see this post -- they'll take the story in an entirely new direction! We'll see Bree and Daniel in trench coats next . . .

"Sort of"? Gemma is saying two things at once, it seems. I'm not very sure of how worried she really is of Bree. The facade Gemma has isn't encompassing her every facet; certain oxymorons are seeping through and it's becoming very obvious, at least in my opinion, that Gemma's intentions aren't as saccharine as she wants us to believe.
If there was any speculation of the society being involved with Thelema hopefully it's very disproved now. So, The Order, huh? Sounds vaguely familiar...
wow very well said

Yes and,
Aleister Crowley, Enochian, Bibliomancy, the Unicusal Hexagram (at the top of LG15 page), Thelema (in Greek at the bottom of the page), 10/12/06 (Crowleys Birthday),the Ceremony, The Order of Denderah, the injections, the maps (on Lucy's computer), Elders, Deacons, communes and communities.
How do all these clues and dropped hints fit together?
And now Gemma "it is not Thelema, but a secret society, called The Order" and they learn ancient Egyptian.
I'm confused, does anyone think there is any consistency here? Or are they just making it up as they go, the hell with consistency!
Gemma could be giving false info.
