Bree has shown herself to be quite the intelligent and thoughtful girl in the past. This whole deal with Daniel and teenage rebellion has presumably made her examine why her religion is important to her.
You'd think she would give us a better reason than "this is the way it's always been", which is an answer for those too stupid or timid to examine themselves and their beliefs. It's a kids answer, not that of someone who has come to terms with their faith in a mature or critical manner.
Maybe I'm being harsh on her because I rejected the religion of my birth in my teenage years, and want her to do the same, but I don't think The Creators are giving the character the depth they'd so carefully built up over previous months.
she IS a kid though. she hasn't had a lot of experiences that normal kids have had...she barely has friends, barely gets to leave the house. She may read a lot, but she's probably less socially/emotionally mature than other girls who are 16.

The real issues her parents had with Daniel only occured after he made her question the strictness preparing for the ceremony and the control her parents have on her in general.
He might have been considered okay by her parents for a while because he showed some interest in the religion (by going to camp with her) and afterall, the entire goal is to recruit more members. By refusing to tape the play then encouraging rebellion, he shows that he isn't buying into it. This understandably could send her parents into extreme anger.

I am new to this Forum So Hi All.
I have been following this LG15 thing only for about a week now.
I think rachelalexis makes a valid point here.
When you watch the "What Bree's Dad Said.." video. Daniel talks about the camp he went on and how they learn about thier religion and how much Bree is into it. Could Bree's dad be attempting to recruit Daniel by inviting him? Daniel states that it sucks and is really weird. Then he is asked to film the ceremony and he refuses. Bree's Dad then states "Well maybe we can't have you coming over anymore. Sounds like case of we don't like outsiders hanging around to me.
I have a feeling we are going to see alot more from Daniel real soon. Possibly spilling the beans on some of this religion/cult stuff. We could then see Bree come back to defend the religion.
I think Daniel will play a big part in this thing from here on in.
Just one more point that I have been pondering. Why the handle daniel beast? Does not really suit his demenor or style. Could there be more to Daniel than meets the eye? Maybe a plant by the Cult to test Bree?
Sorry for the long post. Looking forward to the next vid
Cheers

i know in hindu religion you can't go to temple if you're on your period cuz you're considered unclean...so about those pills she was taking before maybe they were to stop her period? and the purity bond was no disobeying and no stuff with boys although i wouldnt think her parents would even dream that she'd even kiss a boy...but why is she still in the ceremony if they know she snuck out and lied and kissed a boy who they had previously banned from their house?
and why cant her and daniel just f_ck and get it over with?!?! i want them to stick together so bad, but hes being a jackass to her right now but hopefully in his next vid hell be like "so i overreacted, but i hope bree can forgive me because i cant imagine being without her she means everything to me.."
oh and why in daniels vids does it look like hes lying on his back holdin the cam in front of his face...lol thats a little awkward...

I'm just happy Owen makes another appearance! I was hoping she'd go to the bed to seek comfort from the poor guy!
I'm thinking that this is setting up the conflict nicely between Daniel and Religion. She has to figure out if her feelings for Daniel are strong enough to push aside her strongly held religious beliefs. I think that's where the conflict is going to be in the next few weeks. Daniel will draw her away, and she won't do the ceremony. Or she will do it, and he'll somehow retaliate. Seems like it's nicely leading up to the classic movie climax!

I always thought that the handle Danielbeast was a response to Bree's vlog introduction of him where she acted like he was a kind of animal that she was on safari for. Though I may be off. Regardless, I still think there's something off about him!

I always saw it as kind of a pet name, a term of endearment that's not mushy enough so it can be between friends.

Daniel's feelings were probably rather hurt by the "My First Kiss" video, but we didn't hear directly about that. In her cute way, she was making light of something he probably wanted her to think was very special. I suppose it's not surprising that he is being hypersensitive now.
Now I think it's time that Daniel starts telling us about his own dating history.

Am I the only one that thinks there was something...staged... about this video? And that it's not Daniel she's crying over... or well... not the reason we think she's crying?
Owen is looking off to the right...and so does she...repeatedly. The Camera angle shifts and zooms in so the Alter is no longer showing.
Could just be the same reason all the videos are different... but seems more staged and forced then others.

That's very interesting! At the very end, she looks to the right and
up, as if looking at someone standing over her. Hmmm...

She doesn't want to look directly into the camera so much, and when she does, she doesn't want to hold the look for too long.
Those kinds of eye movements are perfectly natural for someone who is upset and embarrassed.

Watch it again without sound and watch her. She noticeably looks to the right (her left) at least twice (not counting the fact that her eyes are off to that direction, which, as you said, is pretty normal).

I guess that explains it, maybe that's what they're trying to tell us. Still, people who are socially isolated tend to be fairly introspective, especially the smart ones.

Way2Curious wrote:Maybe something will happen to Bree at the ceremony, or at the very least she'll go missing......That could be a start to the ARG elements they mentioned. Perhaps the ARG will involve clues leading to what happens (or since it will be later, past tense: happened) to Bree? Or finding out where she is, after a disapearance?
I guess there are alot of ways they could incorporate ARG elements into this.
I second this thought. At the least we won't see the ceremony but Bree will return traumatized. More likely is that she'll go missing. Either way we'll keep watching.
I'm going to need a 12 step program when LG15 ends!

I personally think Daniel was being a complete a*****e making her pick between him and her religion. Forcing anyone to choose between two things that are important to them is completely selfish.
And I don't think Bree's whole "I've only known him for two years / I've been religion my whole life" thing was a whole "things are going to stay the same" as her way of showing the importance.
Religion has always been there for her and it always will be. There's no proof that Daniel will stick around. So should she give up something permant for something temporary?
