The only person I recognized is Henry Rollins, who I've seen in his hey day with Black Flag.

One show at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium was especially memorable, were several of the LA punk bands playing the same night. The stage was ten feet above the floor and there were punk rockers doing back flips off the stage into the audience. It was also the loudest show I've ever seen, my ears were still ringing the next day.
I was worried we would scare you away. :smt058 How are you?

I hate when people try to be clever anyway. You're sweet.

I'm SO glad wit is an effortless gift of mine............

BTW, I had to go work an event this evening and some guy I know comes in with this...this...THING on his arm. I swear I couldn't look at her directly for fear of turning into stone. She had more than a striking resemblance to this lovely lady:

I asked my co-worker who she was because she WAS NOT his WIFE....she said the didn't know but that she was frightened. She is so proper that I cackled, yes, cackled, long and hard.

Okay, I came to this thread because I needed to vent and I knew this is the place where I could find understanding.

THE PEOPLE WHO ARE POSTING ABOUT THE LG15 VIDEOS THESE DAYS ARE IDIOTS.

It's such a relief to come to this thread, where there are always people who share my aesthetic sense. Where else on this board is anyone posting about artists who dress dead birds in knit sweaters? I learn so much from you all.

BTW, I don't know if anyone else has seen this artist or knows who s/he is, but years ago in Philly I saw an exhibit by someone who did a whole wall of figures constructed of Barbie dolls sawn in half horizontally at the waist. Each Barbie top or bottom was paired with the corresponding top or bottom of a Blessed Virgin figure. It was great. Does anybody know who the artist is?

And skydive, back on page 50 you posted about your epiphany about your ex-husband. I had one of those myself. My then-girlfriend, with whom I had made the mistake of trying to live, and I were in a King Soopers market in Boulder, shopping for groceries. I won't go through the whole litany of her unpleasantness and obsessiveness (like insisting that we needed to buy two more jars of spaghetti sauce because it was on sale and she liked it, even though we already had six jars, literally, at home and there was no more room in the cupboard). But it was early November, and Thanksgiving was coming, and Mrs. Smith's frozen pumpkin pies were on sale, and I suggested buying two. And she just gave me this nasty face and said, "I won't eat that shit." And I realized, "I'm done here. This relationship is over." I'll never forget that feeling.

I like hearing everyone's trigger moments!
I agree that there are a surplus of idiots posting. I don't even really talk about LG anymore. It's just not the same.
I have no idea who that artist is either, but he/she sounds fanfuckingtastic. I remember a cover of some art magazine a while ago that had someone's work on it that was just a huge assemblage of hairbrushes and combs..and maybe some other girly things that were all pink..like a similar shade of pink. I don't know why, but I stared at that for hours and I always wanted to replicate it with different stuff.
Anyway, you're always welcome here Lass..bitch about whatever you want, god knows the rest of us do.

I just found out that Henry Rollins used to work at the Haagen Dazs in Georgetown. With Ian MacKaye.
