Is Sarah saving the series
I really think that since Sarah has started to appear in more videos, the show has started to suck way less. Maybe it's not her, maybe it is, but one thing's for sure, IMO anyway, her appearance definitely coincides with a major reduction in suckage
Yeah, you got... stuck a fish in the face.
I was at my wits' end with the whole damn thing there a few weeks back. I never had anything good to say about the series anymore (never stoppped having good things to say about the actors, though), and I felt even more hate for Bree than usual (and that's saying something). Right from the first video since Sarah came into the picture, though, I've had a positive outlook on the series and have appreciated it immensely.
Somehow I could feel that her introduction was a positive turning point, and they've managed to keep me convinced of that in the time since. Everything about the series has improved since then, especially the writing and character interactions. In fact, the writing of late has actually baffled me. It's genuinely good. They've really impressed me.
I've even had to find myself in defense of Bree on a couple of occasions recently, and I never thought that would happen. Yet it did, and it was done while keeping her character consistent with what we'd known before instead of randomly turning her around. I still dislike her beyond words, but I actually was fully in support of her — and if the writing can pull that off, then that's something special in my eyes.
So, yeah, Sarah's brought redemption to LG15. May she be praised.

I think BOTH Taylor and Sarah have contributed to the shows revival, but credit should not rest solely on their shoulders. We could have them both but still be stumped because the plot hasnt gone beyond the middle.
Also Lurker, could you please care to explain why you don't like Bree? I totally respect your opinion but it's like loving the Superman movies but hating Superman at the same time

That's a funny way of putting it, though I don't feel like it's quite the same (Bree's not the heart of all this to me). For the sake of keeping the waffle's thread on-topic (it could potentially be a long message), I'll reply to your inquiry by way of PM.Inigo wrote:Also Lurker, could you please care to explain why you don't like Bree? I think Sarah's a great addition to the series (anyone with that sense of humor is okay in my book), but I don't think she's necessarily saving it. I think the quality of the show is going up, but I think it started around the time they hit the bunker (in my opinion, anyway). Bree started getting a little more lighthearted again, Jonas and Daniel were acting silly again, and there was slightly less angst, I think.
Eh. That's just my opinion.

I agree. We havent really gotten anything too concrete, or even a puzzle that we could figure out that would give us something concrete. (unless you count the Hymn of One Site, but how many of us can hack it?)Leaven wrote:I think the show is actually in a lull now.
I am actually kinda shocked that the two actresses that play Sarah and Taylor could get such a reaction out of me, which is a good thing. I really do not lke either of them, and I am not alone, and a lot of people love them. The fact that they can create such a reaction shows how good of a job they did.
But it will take more than that to bring the show back up.
And I am hoping that there will not be a period of "soap opera" vids, which will barely answer any questions, and have a lot of "omg, he's with her! But he's supposed to be with her! Omg Omg!"
No offesnse, but I think that would be out of place in this show, at least, at this moment. It feels as if this is all leading up to something, and it feels as if it will be big. If it doesn't, I will be sorely disappointed.
