Mod Myths
A few threads here have allowed me to see a few misperceptions exist
Myth 1: The mods will see this shortly after it's posted.
There are 4578 members on this board
1 Admin
2 Ambassadors
4 Mods (1 of the 4 mods is on extended vaycay)
So there are 6 of us to read everything on a non-paid basis. It seems like there are more but remember, 'Mute and Apo aren't mods anymore.
Myth 2: We're assocciated with the Creators and have inside information
V_V Nope
We are volunteers chosen by another volunteer so we are removed from the creators.
Myth 3: The Mods have far reaching power.
Don't we wish.
Mods only have impact on the forum.
We do not mod the comment board, the videos, or chat. We do not run anything else on the website or control the contests and such.
For anything not forum related, contact the creators. (If the creators wished to appoint a liaison(s) to be contacted who would then package these concerns for the creators' consumption, I'd find that advisable)

Thanks for clarifying this for everyone, Diane. I hope it helps.

Tiger's right... however, if you do have a problem with the site (even if it's not just the forum), I strongly encourage you to post about it in C&C or send me a PM or e-mail (thebrokenkid@gmail.com). I may not be able to fix it, but if it's a serious enough problem, I can at least contact the Creators about it. Thanks!

I have an asbestos feather duster, various flame-proof cleaning products, and a reallyreally cool frilly apron that blocks out death rays during major flame wars and suchnot...
Does that count?
Oh, and I also have great laundry facilities for the occasional thread cleaning job...and a broom...a super-duper magical thread moving, post-sweeping clean-up broom.
Yep, that's me...
Hmmmm...they don't seem to have gotten the giant "S" on the apron yet...darn! <snicker>

Liar! You have a nun's outfit and you carry around a giant ruler, just waiting to whack someone.chershaytoute wrote:I have an asbestos feather duster, various flame-proof cleaning products, and a reallyreally cool frilly apron that blocks out death rays during major flame wars and suchnot...

Shhhh...that's on alternate Sundays and every third Friday... And it's as penance to what I did to the poor nuns when I was at Catholic school. Lowered above, but my knuckles still have scars! <chortle>

Concern:
is it felt that more mods are at all needed??

Re: Mod Myths
I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure some of us with modding experience would gladly step up if more mods are needed. You can always set up a little application process, with simple questions like "where have you modded before?" or "what do you feel a mod should do in terms of discipline?". A forum I once modded on had a system like that when they needed new mods. Then they would choose like..3 and put them sort of on probation and then choose if they wanted to keep all 3 or just 2 or 1.Cloud_ax wrote:*raises hand*tigerlilylynn wrote:A few threads here have allowed me to see a few misperceptions exist

watch the sun
as it crawls across a final time
and it feels like
like it was a friend
if its watching us
and the world we set on fire
do you wonder
if it feels the same?

Re: Mod Myths
I think I have something posted in Website Announcements or Forum Announcements about people interested in being moderators or chat admins. You can always send me a PM or (better - since the inbox never fills up) an e-mail (thebrokenkid@gmail.com). We're not looking for any new moderators right now (especially since I think I found a solution for the spam problem), but it would be great to have people to keep in mind for the next opening. I always prefer knowing who's interested so I can read their posts and see how they participate on the forum.gigglingmonk wrote:I was wondering the same thing.
