my theory...

Post by Kristine »

With the Neutrogena deal they agreed that Spencer wouldn't offer any info until Neutrogena received a set amount of emails. Which is why the characters are pushing so hard to get everyone to email and why Spencer is slow to act and wont email the TAAG team yet. Neutrogena wants to make sure they get their money's worth for their involvement. While everyone is waiting in suspence they are out googling Neutrogena, emailing them etc. Lots of brand recognition being burned into our brains.

I dunno, it's always a possibility but I doubt it. I think they'll get more brand recognition after the guy actually appears, not while we send e-mails. Neutrogena hasn't really been involved in anything ARG, so no reason to do much searching on it either. But good thinking at least!

While we're on the subject, don't forget to visit

www.neutrogena.com

and register for your own "MyNeutrogena" page where you can receive a free online "e-Valuation" of which skincare and cosmetic products are right for you!

And I listened to that song, and it sucked. No offense.

here's something i didn't think of before... it'll be interesting to see if you who emailed spencer at his work email start getting advertizing emails from neutrogena. i sure hope not, because that'd be lame.

Hmmm...that would be an interesting tactic!
I prefer S.A.R.A.H. or SARAH.

It would be a small sacrifice to make to keep my lonelycrack habit fed  although it would not necessarily be a beneficial strategy for the advertiser, as it would annoy me, and I would most likely just click delete.

Yeah, if anything, that would turn people away.

I hope they aren't that desperate to sell their stuff.

lol. i don't see what the big deal is - they needed money, they're getting funded, and neutrogena bombards us with ads everywhere anyway. we're the generation that is USED to having ads thrown at us from every direction ANYWAY. We're pros at ignoring them.

What, exactly, does Nuetrogena want? Does anyone know?

I thought it was just permanent advertising on LG15.com and being mentioned in videos.

And how long will it last?
Sorry, what's that I hear?

I think Neutrogena already had more attention here than they expected. It's probably nothing more then mentioning their name and maybe some product placement. Plus ads or something, I doubt that our e-mail adressess would be used.

It is brilliant advertising technique I think - i feel we need to be more forgiving of the product placement...

I agree I actually think it's very innovative, and I congratulate Neutrogena for being willing to step out of the box on this! If they play this right, this could be buzz marketing on steroids, which is far more effective than broadcast email. That's what I was trying to say about the email. I just delete email ads.

By working themselves into the plot line of this story, they actually have my attention. I have visited their site. I recognize their brand. I am familiar with their product line. I'm even registered for an account on their site. Next time I make a cosmetic or bodycare purchase, I will buy one of their products.

But still, if I get something in my email from them, I will just delete it.
