So who IS Frank?

I've seen a lot of good analysis of individual clues but couldnt find much on what role this Frank actually plays. I've been thinking about the several possibilities

1: Frank is a totally unrelated to Cassie, Bree and her religion. He is a troubled individual who is hearing voices in his head, who gets unwanted attention when Cassie refers to Frank and someone decided to draw a connection to his blog. The voices/location in CiW videos must have coincided with something in his life, which is why he became so upset. (otherwise he might visit ciw just out of curiosity, but shouldn't have given it a second thought). This combined with the voices becoming increasingly disturbing is driving him over the edge. In this case Frank is a tragic subplot and we may see him end up killing himself.

It seemed likely imo until his conversation in the chat room seems to completely invalidate this.

2. Cassie is some sort of acquaintence of Frank. Frank has somehow been 'chosen' to take part in Bree's ceremony, but he is not yet aware of it. Cassie is trying to awaken him to his identity, as well as the spirit inside.

3. Similar to the second case, but Cassie is the voice inside his head. CiW and such are Frank's doing, under her control. This is more likely as it would explain how his bible page and painting got taken off, the ciw references (i'll be right there above you, this is my story now), and how its sometimes unclear whether he's talking to Cassie, the voice or his log visitors. However it would rule out the Cassie/Bree dual identity theory.

Another point is many ppl believe ciw is trying to warn Bree of danger, in that case both 2 and 3 dont 'quite' make sense.

I am starting to confuse myself so i'll stop now, what do you think

I agree with number 3. He is the vessel that Cassie has chosen to accomplish what she cannot. I never really held to the whole Cassie is Bree/Bree is Cassie thing anyway.

Maybe he was tied to this religion growing up...or had something to do with a similar ceremony years ago... Who knows, we don't even really know who Cassie is.

Personally, I think that the LG15 and CiW stories have diverged. While CiW may continue to reference LG15, I believe the CiW story line is moving in a different, albeit somewhat related, direction.

I think this for a few reasons. The first CiW video was entitled "This is My Story Now". That could be read in different ways depending on where you put the emphasis, but if you put the emphasis on "My", it appears to be an attempt to take over the LG15 story (gamejack, if you will).

The second reason is the audio clip from U2's cover of Helter Skelter in the second video:

To me this implies that CiW is taking the story "back" from The Creators. Perhaps the person/group behind CiW were part of the LG15 group, and then split over creative differences. Perhaps the CiW group had some original ideas, which were considered too dark for the LG15 series, and they split off. They are taking the story "back" and into the direction they wanted it to go.

Now CiW is introducing new characters (Frank) and story ideas (voices in his head) that appear to have nothing to do with LG15, taking their story in their direction.

I know that The Creators have said they are not behind CiW, so I realize the above is nothing new. But it definitely seems to me that the stories will diverge and not intersect.

All pure speculation, maybe from too little sleep staying up waiting for more clues from Cassie...

starman, I love your theories! Now that there's some downtime from all the clues Cassie churned out, the mind can now address what "Cassie's" (or Team Cassie) intentions are. Keep the theories comin'!!

Personally I think it would be hilarious if the next Cassie video took place inside Bree's bedroom (when the LG15 crew is between shooting scenes). It would be a nice little "gotcha" from Team Cassie to their former partners, the LG15 creators.

Well here's a thought for you to dream on when you pass out: How far is Cassie going to take this?
I had never heard of Alternate Reality Games before all this so I don't know how they work (but I'm slowly learning) or how they conclude. If somebody saw all the attention LG15 was getting a couple months back and decided to start a fanfic ARG based on a (seemingly) throwaway reference, when and how are they going to end it? The Creators of LG15 have said they're not associated with Cassie; fine, we accept that--so if Cassie is trying to save Bree or stop the ceremony then we're obviously not going to read in Frank's blog how the voice led him to some ceremony where he saved "that cute girl" from the videos, and we're certainly not going to see a video post from Bree on the 13th where she talks about some crazy hunter guy crashing the ceremony with a gun.
Will the game be over on the 12th? Sooner?
Either way the payoff better be spectacular, the chase certainly has been.

If this is fanfic, I don't see why Bree mentions Cassie again after the Creators made a point of telling us that CiW isn't related to LG15. You'd think that if they were telling the truth, they'd stay away from mentioning Cassie in the videos anymore. Bah.

Let's assume for now that the CiW crew is unrelated to LG15. My thought is that anyone who's willing to go through the trouble of making all these videos (that actually had some thought and skill put into, unlike some overly bloody cult spinoffs), puzzles and drops, wouldn't want to see their work easily jeopardized by contradicting LG.

e.g say Frank confirms in his blog that cassie is indeed the voice in his head, and 2 hours later LG15 reveals that cassie and bree are the same person. With LG15 being the original series people would discredit ciw as crap and lose interest pretty quickly. Right now cassie is staying ambiguous but she must have had her own interpretation (or knowledge, if she is in fact associated with the creators) of what's going on in LG15, and created this subplot accordingly.

My point is the events in CiW should tie in to LG15 regardless of whether she is affilited with the creators or not. And Frank seems to play an insignificant role in this story. Again, this has been my take on him, up until the chat room thing:

- Frank plays a very minor role, and was meant as a distraction just to throw us off a bit.
- As soon as we realize this, we will see him commit suicide.

hmmm no wonder they say this is too dark for lg15
