What is Bree saying?

Post by franvdf »

The parts of the vid where Daniel and Bree are looking at the globe in high-speed, Bree is talking. Anyone here a lip-reader?
The things in those scenes: a globe, Time magazine (2nd globe scene), 2 alarm clocks on either side of the globe, and Bree and Daniel.

Why are there TWO clocks? And what kind of hat is Bree wearing? Is it Australian? What is Daniel "typing" (?) with his hand? And the music: The Wanderer by SPY.

Also, I read a few summaries on the book Bree is talking about, and it's about how a guy used technology to figure out longitude instead of reading the stars like everyone else thought was the best way. Is that supposed to be an analogy?

Anyway, I think the theory about the time change is an excellent one, but I think the positions of the two clocks in respect to the globe should be taken into consideration. Bree nods her head from left to right during the second segment, from one clock to another?

Can anyone whip these observations into a comprehensive theory? Sorry, this post is more questions than theory...

I didn't notice the clocks but did they have a time? Lets say they said 10:20 and 11:22. It could mean like longitude 10 minutes 20 seconds and lattitude 11 minutes 22 seconds. I don't know what any of that means I just remember the movie Real Genius. Maybe Bree is teaching Daniel about this and these are the coordinates to where Daniel is pointing to on the globe.

They probably have 2 clocks becasue you need 2 clocks to figure out longitude--one at "home" and one where you are. Most of the book she holds up is about how John Harrison developed a very accurate clock for figuring longitude at sea.

I know had the time 7:10 on it the whole time, I kept an eye out for that. I'm surprised some else notice. I'm gonna check the vid now for the other time.

You never see the face of the other clock, but whatever the purpose of the visible clock, that is definitely not the real time. The room is full of natural sunlight throughout the video, and 7:10 a.m. is the time of sunrise on the day that video was supposed to have been made. 7:10 p.m. would have been after sunset.
