This is what happened with me:

I sent Op a YT message with the subject title "CALL ME" and my phone number in the message itself, and about 1 min later my phone rang. The first time it hung up as soon as I said "Hello." I pressed redial, and it said the number couldn't be reached as dialed. About a minute later the phone rang again and it was this dude. Here's my recollection of the call:

Dude: Hi I'm calling from USA Today regarding your comments on our graphics (?), just wanted to ask you, what do psychic vampires feed off of?
Me: <long pause> Uhhhh...energy?
Dude: Energy, that is a popular answer. Can I speak to my sister?
Me (confused, I pause and pretend to be her): Hello?
Dude: I want to speak with my sister...put her on the phone please.
Me: Uhh she's not here right now.
Dude: Well she hasnt been seen since she left, uh, let's call it summercamp and me and my parents are very worried about her. How did you know the secret password if you don't know where she is? How did you know the answer to the question?
Me: Uhh I read it in an email or something..Whats your sister's name?
Dude: Thats classified...so you read it in an email? From who? How did you get this number?
Me: Ummm I can't really say. I read it somewhere.
Dude: Who has contacted you about this phone number? How did you get this number?
Me: From someone with the codename OpAphid.
Dude: So you're part of the operation?
Me: Damn straight, I am.
Dude: And what can you tell me about the operation?
Me: I can't tell you anything.
Dude: Fine then. But I swear to God, if anything happens to my partner I will find you and hold you responsible. You and whatever god or gods you weirdos worship better pray that nothing happens to my partner.
Me: Sounds good
Dude: Well thank you for your time, have a good ni-
(I hung up on him..lol)

I really didn't know what was going on with the phone call until he asked if I was part of the operation. Right after I got a phone call from Op saying I made the right choice. Hope this is useful for you guys!

I basically had the same conversation as cassieisabeyotch, except that I didn't admit to knowing OpAphid or being in the operation (at least, I think I didn't). He accused me of being in the operation anyway and went on a similar rant to the one cassieisabeyotch got. Also, I believe he said something like he knows how my organization works because his works the same way. (I could be remembering that incorrectly -- I was mostly focussed on not screwing up the test!)

So my interpretation is that the theory about Tachyon being a double agent is correct.

Afterwards, it occurred to me that I could have pretended to be part of the guy's organization and tried to get some information about Tachyon from him. Did anyone try that?

Did anyone else succeed with a different tactic?

I did... he asked where his sister was and I was like, "Dude... who's your sister?"

Dude: I can't tell you that.
Me: Then I don't know, do I?
Dude: Are you a part of Operation Aphid?
Me: Um... I don't know... I've heard about it... but I'm not part of it. Is that what you're REALLY calling about?
Dude: How did you get this number?
Me: I found it.
Dude: This is supposed to be a secure line for her to call us from.
Me: Wait... Tachyon? THAT'S your sister?
(pause)
Dude: How do you know my partner's name?
Me: I thought she was your sister.
Dude: That is supposed to be a top secret name for the agent. HOW DO YOU KNOW THE AGENT'S NAME??
Me: dude... you SUCK at being top secret. If you didn't want her to be known... why did you let her use that online?
Dude: I don't know what you're speaking of. What did you do to her??
Me: I don't know where she's at... you're in Cali, I'm in Texas... what could I have done?
Dude: Operation Aphid is a worldwide organization, ma'am.
Me: And I told you I'm not a part of it.
Dude: Would you like to be?
Me: HELLZ YEAH!
Dude: (sigh) Well, if your creepy little group does anything to her... I'm going to make sure each and every one of you are held accountable.
Me: Uh... okay, bring it.
Dude (sigh)
Me: Why don't you look online and see everything she's been trying to tell you instead of trying to blame EVERYTHING on OpAphid?
Dude: We don't have internet access.
Me: Go to a public library then, they'll have internet.
Dude: Maybe in your area, ma'am. Maybe in your area. Not here.
Me: Damn...
Dude: But I will hold you all accountable if something happens to her.
Me: Okay... that's fine.

Actually, I've never locked a single thread for this user handle, so, you must be confusing me with someone else. Nor have I ever kicked CoolestTraveler from the #opaphid channel.

I registered the channel for people wanting to discuss OpAphid clues in real-time, not for someone to discuss their latest diversion. There are thousands, literally, of other IRC channels for that kind of discussion. Some with hundreds of users chatting in them.

Oh, and I read somewhere that the Party Thread is really great for that kind of thing, too! Also, since CiW is no longer breathing, #watchers is also a great place to chat about anything under the sun. I even heard they have weird ceremonies where people remove their digital clothing.

So many options, so little time, I know.

I wonder if OpAphid has plans to release the audio of some of the conversations? That would be an interesting listen!

I can almost hear the backpedaling...

My call lasted about 6 minutes. I'll go ahead and post some interesting parts of the conversation and things that were different that I remember.

Him: "Hi, I'm calling with USA Today and I need to ask you a question for a poll we will be having.
Me: "Ok."
Him: "What do psychic vampires feed off of?"
Me: "Psychic vampires? They feed off energy or attention."
Him: "Energy? Thats a very popular answer. So I guess my sister is there with you?"
Me: "Your sister?"
Him: "YES! My sister. Is she there with you?"
Me: ".....Are you talking about Tachyon?"
Him: ".......So you know my sisters nickname. I'm guessing she is there with you?"
Me: "No, she isn't... We don't really know where she is."
Him: "Well, how did you get this number? This is a secure phone line that MY parents set up for MY sister."
Me: "I wasn't aware that this was your sisters number."
Him: "No, this is a secure phone line that they set up FOR my sister when she went to... summercamp. How did you get it?
Me: "I can't say."


Then we talked for a bit about things, and then:

Him: "What do you know about the Operation?"
Me: "I can't tell you anything about it... I know that there are at least 10 members."
Him: "How do you know this? 10? Only 10? Try at least 10 million. World-wide operation, world-wide operation you're working with buddy."
Me: "Ok."
Him: "Fine then. But I swear to God, if anything happens to my partner I will find you and hold you responsible. You and whatever god or gods you weirdos worship better pray that nothing happens to my partner.
Me: "Is this LordGreystoke? Sounds like something he would say."
Him: "How do you know of Greystoke?"
Me: "I've seen his videos."
Him: "His videos!? He has videos!? Listen. That LordGreystoke, or whatever, is a complete idiot. He has been flooding our Voice Mail, NON STOP! You tell him he's fifty-one fifty from being put in a psycho ward!"
Me: I agree with you there.
Him: "So let me get this straight: You know of my sister, you know of Greystoke, and you know about the Operation. How are you caught up in all of this exactly?
Me: "I can't say."
Him: "Ok, well, I'm telling you, and that boss of yours at the operation, to STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY and you BETTER NOT HARM MY SISTER!"
Me: "How does your family know about the operation?"
Him: "Oh thats classified information sir, very classified."
Me: " ....ok...."
Him: "Look, I think you should seriously reconsider your position; You don't know who you're working with. Consider this your last warning, son. Good night."
Me: "Thanks."

And a few minutes later, I get a call from Aphid starting off with "Congratulations." I was so happy

Ok here's what I remember...it all went so fast that I keep remembering little details so I'll update this if I remember anything else. My call from the man only lasted like 2 maybe 3 minutes max.

He started off saying that he was from USA Today conducting a poll and that I had left my number saying I wanted to participate. He asked me What Psychic Vampires feed of of....I said energy.

He said "Where's my sister?"
I said "What?"
He said "Is my sister there?'
I said "No she is not"
He said "How did you know the password?"
(I had no idea what he was talking about, so..)
I said "Because I'm smart like that"
He said "How did you get this number?"
I said "I cannot divulge that information."

He seemed to get agitated at this point and said. "Look, my sister may be in danger, my Mom and Dad Haven't heard from her."

I said "What is your sister's name?"
He said "That's classified information maam."
He said "Are you with the organization?"
I said "I cannot divulge that information."
He said "I don't think you understand my partner is in trouble."
I said "You said it was your sister, now it's your partner?"
He said "Uhh, I must have mispoke."
I said "Right"
He said "I need to know what you know about the organization"
I said "I'm sorry, but l cannot divulge that information"

He got really mad now and said that I should tell my superiors that He will bring down the organization, and he swears to whatever god we worship that he will hold all of us personally responsible. And then he promptly hung up on me.

Oh, I should note that the phone kept cutting out and when I asked him about it he said that "they" were probably listing to us. Anyways, that's all I remember at the moment.

So this morning, a person with some interesting viewpoints came into the chat. He said he wanted to think his theories through a bit more, but at the request of others, this is what he said :

[09:11] <yournamehere> hacked one of the #'s, tapping the line and listening in on the voicemail

[09:11] <yournamehere> so instead, they set up the puzzle to prove our worth
[09:11] <yournamehere> they read Tach's vid saying she didn't even have the # to call, so OpA could change the voicemail message on it

[09:11] <yournamehere> we left all those messages
[09:12] <yournamehere> her partner calls some people back
[09:12] <yournamehere> Tach's partner is expecting Tachyon
[09:12] <yournamehere> the people called are expecting OpA
[09:12] <yournamehere> and the confusion tells OpA, who is listening, who that line belongs to
[09:12] <yournamehere> and what is up
[09:12] <yournamehere> follow still?

[09:14] <yournamehere> so when OpA hacked her partner's voicemail, it wasn't like Tach could call to check the message and say "hey, partner -- your voicemail is hacked"

[09:17] <absolution> And that was the test, to see if the players could conceal the info thus have the upper hand. We figured out who the partner was but the partner had no idea who we were unless you said that you were on OpA's side.

He had another point which is worth getting down here:

[21:33] <yournamehere> so Op's first test was to give us this second test, which was a test/fact-finding mission in away

What this yournamehere guy said could explain Op's reasoning for not giving me a call. I was really intrigued by her answer, but now it makes sense.
