Jonas' weird facial scratching stuff...

First post--woohoo! Don't know what I'm doing--WOOHOO!!
Um, long time lurker here, coming out to point out something strange about Jonas...which has already been discussed...but whatever.
Anyway, I went back and watched all his videos, because the latest, "Anti-Cribs," I thought that his facial scratching thing seemed almost, well, planned. Like the director said to him "Alright dude, right when you mention your parents disappearing, do that scratchy thing." So I made a nice little obsessive-compulsive list of what he's talking about every time he does it in one of his videos:
In "My Name is Jonas": he says "I've seen a lot of the Lonelygirl15 and Danielbeast videos..."
In "Bored at Home": none
In "Happy Thanksgiving": he says "I spend almost every holiday all alone;" "My parents disappeared;" "My mom and dad were sailing around the 140th longitude;" "I think that he seems like a pretty good guy" (referring to Daniel)
In "Trust Issues": he says "You need to trust someone;" "At least I can trust him" (referring to his dad)
In "Anti-Cribs": he says "After my parent's disappearance..."
So, what does this all mean? Probably nothing! Maybe he does it when he's lying?
Just for the record I'm in the "Jonas is hot (not as hot as my hubby, though) but most likely evil" fanclub.
And would someone like to PM me and explain how to make an avatar? Did I even spell that word right? Thanks!

Maybe it's just a nervous habit... or his facial hair could be bothering him. I know my hubby does it all the time when it's growing in.

I noticed the scratch thing as well, and I kinda think there may be something to it.. since he does it an awful lot....
People sometimes do weird facial things when lying... so this could very well be the case.... Thanks for taking the time to write out what he's saying in each vid when he does the scratchies.. we should continue to keep note of, JUST in case.
Or it could be something silly like saying hello to a friend or family member. You know how Carol Burnett used to tug on her ear during her shows to say hello to her mom.. maybe thats his "thing" to say hey to someone... (silly thought but you never know!)

I doubt that each time he scratches, it means he's lying about specifically what he's talking about in that moment. But I do think that there's something to the theory that it demonstrates a general lack of trustworthiness.
Jonas is sketchy!

Daniel mimicks this gesture, oddly, right near the beginning of 0087 Jonas?
Is Daniel mocking Jonas? Or are the Creators mocking us for complaining that the characters all use the same facial expressions & gestures? Or is this some sort of weird code?
This question's been bothering me more than it should...
lying!

I think it's a "tell"; a sign of deception.
"Signs of Deception:
Body Language of Lies:
• Hands touching their face, throat & mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand."

I do understand what you all are saying here; does it take a brilliant actor to 'act' like he/she is lying? I'm trying to say, perhaps they're all better than many thought in the beginning. Afterall, acting is lying in and of itself, is it not? Act well, my dears, for the sake of us all

I've been thinking about posting a thread about something like this lately too, so good thoughts. Anyways, another sign of body language for lying is looking down and specifically to the left or right. I've noticed that Daniel and Bree don't really do this but Gemma does sometimes and Jonas does it alot. I know that they are all acting, but just watch Jonas, especially in the "Trust Issues" video and you'll see what I mean. Just something to think about...

The reason for looking to the left is supposedly because the right side of your brain is the creative/imaginitive side (lying) and it controls the left side of your body and vice versa for looking to the right and the left side of the brain being analytical and controlling the ride side of your body.

katielovesleigh, what an excellent post! And it's your first? Very impressive. You've done some great research here -- plenty of people have mentioned the scratching, but nobody's gone to the trouble of doing the kind of analysis you have.
Based on the evidence that Luv2Skydive and starryeyedgirl have cited in this thread, I'd lay odds that when Jonas does his little scratchy thing, whatever he's saying is false. Cuddlebunni is right -- we should keep track of all of those statements for future reference.
Way to go, katieloves, and welcome!
