				Favorite Places?

I'm relatively well travelled I suppose. My parents took the family on vacations to different places around the United States every couple of years when my brother and I were growing up. I got to go to Mexico when I was 12 (my parents chaperoned a high school class that was going and my brother and I got to tag along). Being in the army gave me the chance to see a lot of Europe. I dated a woman for a while who lived in Canada.
What are some of the places you've travelled to or lived that you'd call you favorites, and why?
I really love Colorado. I got such a nice impression from Colorado Springs for some reason and the mountains are beautiful. California was sure nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. It's too expensive, and I fear earthquakes. I remember one of the best times I ever had was riding The Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls. My brother and I got right up in the very front of the boat. It was more exciting than any roller coaster I've ever been on.
There are a bunch of places that I really enjoyed visiting, but I don't think that I would be totally comfortable living anywhere but the mid-Atlantic coast. I just feel more comfortable being within driving distance of the Atlantic and I like getting a taste of all four seasons.

I've lived in St. Croix, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Saudi Arabia, CuraƧao and right here in the Midwest. Have traveled to Spain, Malaysia, Thailand, West Germany (back when there were two of them), Holland, Venezuela, Bonaire, St. Maarten, England and France. I'd love to go to Alaska and New Zealand some day.

I require palm trees and at least 5 local restaurants that have rum runners. I genrally like beach towns..but I'll settle for Vegas from time to time.

I've lived in Ohio, Georgia, Texas, and Florida. I've visited Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, and California. My absolute favorite so far has been California, when the Mohave Desert was in what I was told by a state trooper was a once-in-a-lifetime bloom. Never been out of the US, but I'd love to visit both Germany and Ireland. And I've promised a kilt-maker in Scotland that I'd come visit his shop if I ever found myself in that part of the world.

What really gets me about those rapscallions is their aesthetic.

Track suits? Please. We did that in the 80s.
