Für Elise
The song playing in "Alex is..." has been used a lot in movies, often in specific contexts. In "Patch Adams" Larry is playing it just before his kills Corinne, and in Elephant Alex plays it shortly before he and Eric go on the killing spree. There are other instances of Für Elise being used for foreshadowing of death or disaster... Is this the case in LG15 or is it just a coincidence... probably just a coincidence but I thought it was interesting.
A little music to while away the time,
A little laughter a little kindness,
Patience and a reason for keeping on.
That'd be love,

Echo, it's also very interesting that the character you named in "Elephant" is named Alex as well.
This goes nicely with that "what comes after me" comment by Alex.
OK, I'm getting creeped out now.

LLP - I didn't realise that... Interesting. I'd be creeped out too except the radio just started playing "Gimme Gimme a Man After Midnight..."
spaciegirlreturn - I haven't seen "The Bad Seed," but does it fit into the theme of insanity/violence?

LMAO omg.. have you read the book? I think I'm probably the only person who ever did. It's the most bizarre book ever.spaciegirlreturn wrote:Wasn't it in "The Bad Seed"?
But anyway, I thought of A Clockwork Orange. Maybe it will trigger Daniel to be a gangster Orderite like it triggered (shit i forgot his name) to get sick and not be violent and rapisty. aah, what an excellent book/movie that was..

Ironically enough, the name of the character you're looking for there is "Alex."JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote:But anyway, I thought of A Clockwork Orange. the one thing I have learned from watch LG15 is that absolutely nothing is EVER just a coincidence, so I think that you are probably on to something here.EcholaliaRicochet wrote:The song playing in "Alex is..." has been used a lot in movies, often in specific contexts. And strangely enough, one of the plot keywords given at IMDB (http://imdb.com/title/tt0066921/) is "mind control" - although having seen that when it first came out (first R movie I ever saw...does that date me, or what?), I'm relatively certain I don't remember ice cream, pizza, or spin art at any point in the movie...Lurker wrote:Ironically enough, the name of the character you're looking for there is "Alex."JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote:But anyway, I thought of A Clockwork Orange. I understand the connection between Beethoven and A Clockwork Orange, but I do not remember that song being played in the movie. I have seen it probably 350 times... I checked any music credits I could find and also could not find it. Just because Fur Elise was played in a LG15 video does not tie it to any movie that references Beethoven.chershaytoute wrote:And strangely enough, one of the plot keywords given at IMDB (http://imdb.com/title/tt0066921/) is "mind control" - although having seen that when it first came out (first R movie I ever saw...does that date me, or what?), I'm relatively certain I don't remember ice cream, pizza, or spin art at any point in the movie...Lurker wrote:Ironically enough, the name of the character you're looking for there is "Alex."JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote:But anyway, I thought of A Clockwork Orange. Outside of that. I definitely see it as foreshadowing. I thought of that immediately when I heard it. It was a great choice of songs for this video and I can't wait to see what it is foreshadowing.
I Lurker!! He is my King. I bow to no other.
You other girls better back it up! He is mine! Just ask him!!

Joy, I haven't seen the movie in exactly that amount of time...so if you're sure it wasn't in it...it probably wasn't... <rueful grin>
