Product Placement?

Was just wondering if the whole gum scene was a bit of product placement? Seemed a bit random, although not unbelievable, since I do things like that with my friends, you know quoting the commercials and what have you.
Is this something that the Creators have decided to do, like with the guest spots from famous people? Might be a handy idea, if they wanted more funding. It would be easy to slip in stuff. "Hey, Bree, do we have any more of those delicious Coca Colas?"
Did anyone else pick up on it or am I just being weird and too keyed up and just looking for things?

Yep that was the product placement we've all been expecting for a while. It seemed a little out of place...but I thought they executed it fairly well.

Things like these always happen in real life... but making them look natural on film is extremely difficult. It was ok, but when she said the name of the candy it sounded a little bit forced though

I still say it should be done in parody form a la Truman Show. Be weird, be silly/stupid. Do a whole episode of exagerations.
No wait, I take that back.
Do a Proving Science Wrong about it.
You could take any product, look up a little history on it, and then have Bree talk about it/make fun of it. It would be a great way to get back to the "roots" of the series, and make money as well.

It's a really good Idea, but I don't think anyone would want to see their product being made fun of.

I'm a little bummmed. This ad was ok, I just worry about it getting worse. What is so cool about LG15 is that they keep it as real as possible and we're not slammed with ads.
whatever pays the bills I guess

as long as they don't do those silly close up/pans in on the product that was just a little too unnatural ( you know, close up while saying the name...like seriously....who says the name when people ask you whats that..you say "Gum" "what kind of gum" then you say then name) i'm ok with it...but they just need to know how to do it...a little more natural..
BUT this time was ok, and great, and made me want to buy the gum

It was pretty obvious, but it has to be in order to truly promote the product; just a passing mention or a lingering shot won't do. Those don't make people want to buy the product, and the companies involved wouldn't pay for that.
As a side note, I hate anything really sour. However, my daughter loves that kind of stuff, so I'm going to buy a few packs and use them at Easter.

I'm sorry, I have to say it. It was preety cheezy. I guess it just has to be though...I don't know how else you could do it. AND it was a pretty big fraction of the video..infact, there really was no other point to the video. I don't really care though because, quite frankly, it was hysterically funny.

I thought it was tacky and could have been done a lot better.
Whatever pays the bills though.
