SilenceOpahipd.com - Fan Fic or In Game?

Is this fanfic or did I actually stumble onto something here? If it's in game, I think its significant. If no, then I'm a dunce.

How did you find that page? From the front of silenceopaphid.com, there's no link to anywhere...

I'm curious to learn where you found this page also. The front page of silenceopaphid.com is just an egyptian eye. I think it's a fanfic, it hasnt' been confirmed in game and it supports a popular fan theory.

Actually, it is interesting. It doesn't appear to confirm anything in game, as girlAnachronism stated. Also, the source code for the page is rather simple for something game related.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that this is a fanfic. While I am unable to confirm that at this time, I am also going to go ahead and feel free to move it to the General Discussion area for now.
Should it later prove to be part of the game, myself or an Operator can always move it back to Parallax.

I was bored and desperate for op-action, so I googled Opaphid - I found opaphid.org - which is live, but empty.
So I kept digging through google, and this page came up, it was pretty far down on the pages (maybe page 3 of search results).
I was totally fishing, so I wasn't sure if it was real or not. But the names correspond with "RJW" as in the author of the article found in the Cabin...also a Lucy reference.
If not in game...fun nonetheless

Thanks Apo - it felt like it could go either way...especially with the "new regime" I suspect is being developed. I didn't know if I stumbled onto something predrop and was ruining the game or something...yikes!
I hear you on the source code too. I was expecting a message under the image on the homepage.

Check the name of the Attendant.
Lucy M. Papal.
Interesting.
Edit:
Did some more checking.
The page was written by "The Hodous Group" and Hodous in particular.
A google search revealed no such "Hodous Group."
However I did find that there is a Hodous registered on lonelygirl15.com.
Make of that what you will.
Some people stumbled upon this awhile ago actually. It was given out by the "Deacons" who comment the videos.
Strikes me as a fan-fic.

The esteemed and multi-talented blogger milowent has just sent me a PM regarding the creator of this material.
milowent also suggested that the telephone number listed has been discussed as having been associated with a fan fiction known as
The Deacons
I went back and read the comments. The number does appear to be the same. I don't know if it is actually a number for The Deacons, but some seem to think so. This seems to demonstrate that the fanfiction here is not a part of OpAphid, and I thank milowent for bringing it to my attention!
Milowent has a great blog too! Check it out at

I'm bored, So I did a little digging myself. This is all just my speculation, and things that may be just a coincidence
I googled 'hodous' and the very last result on the first page led us to
This article
The article stood out to me very much, especially this part:
"Brian's impressive track record of success in sales, marketing and general management over the past 20 years, coupled with his considerable international experience, makes him an ideal candidate for this position. His appointment further strengthens our management team as we grow to meet the increasing demand for video games worldwide."
If this is the same 'hodous' thats running silenceopaphid.com then The Deacons is all a marketing ploy.
Also interesting to note:
The birth certificate on SilenceOpAphid.com is set in Santa Monica, CA, as is the Brian Hodous in the article.
Activision is a videogaming/software company. Just the kind of company to use and ARG/Fan Fic to their advantage for marketing
EDIT: because I just can't work the 'quote' and 'url' buttons -_-[/list]

Here's something interesting -
From Both Birth Certificates:
14. Typed Name and Title of Certifier if Other Than Attendant
Allen Smithee

I haven't looked up Alan Smithee but that name is incredibly familiar.
