They're so annoying because . . .
The title of this thread is slightly tongue-in-cheek (okay, maybe a bit more than "slightly"), but an idea just occurred to me that I wanted to throw out to you all.
What if A New Girl is being introduced because . . . the girl who does the ceremony must die?
We've certainly done enough speculating about whether the ceremony involves human sacrifice or other horrific/dangerous activities. What if we've been right all along?
And what if the Creatatrons have finally decided to show us the Ceremony we've been waiting for (or at least have one actually take place, whether on- or off-camera), but don't want to kill Bree off?
So they choose a "replacement" for Bree whom the audience will find annoying at best and insufferable at worst. That way, when she dies, viewers will be shocked, but not devastated the way we would be if Bree -- or another character to whom we've given our allegiance -- was killed.
What do you all think?

Ooooooooh! Maybe!
Although on the other hand if these new girls are all canon, I don't think they've been made annoying on purpose. As it's been said, they're very similar to early Bree videos and it seems like they're purely trying to recreate that.
Only Jess had some kind of allure or spark or something that made everyone want to watch where as, apparently, these new girls don't.

Okay, I think I'd better stop making snarky responses on the forum for awhile. I thought you were being a smartass.impulse wrote:What? I just said I acknowledged your theory, decided it's good enough to move forward with it and suggested an easy way out of a rather painful situation.Languorous Lass wrote:Thank you for sharing that with us, impulse.
Anyone else?
Naaaah, I like your snarly comments. You wouldn't be yourself anyway.Languorous Lass wrote: Okay, I think I'd better stop making snarky responses on the forum for awhile. I thought you were being a smartass.
On a more serious note, I think the purpose of New Girl is just to promote a new Bree: Bree 2.0 powered with "Tachyon inside".

Hmmm, with this theory, I might actually be able to tolerate a new girl.
I mean, we'd get to see what the ceremony is once and for all, and we wouldn't have to tolerate them! Yaaay! It's a win win situation, lol.
Seriously though, I like this theory, maybe you have something valid here then. Of course, then after the ceremony is over, I wonder what they'll want out of Bree that will keep the series going... or maybe she'll be so disgusted she'll revert to fighting them directly, and then we have new plots? Hmmm... ponderponder...

I think that this new girl has been introduced because "The Creators" have realised the void left through the loss of Tachyon; and, rather than introduce a new girl to see the ceremony through to completion, this new girl is the catalyst initiating Bree's evolution into a Tachyon-like character.
"He was killed by the usual cabal: by himself, first of all; by the woman he knew; by the woman he did not know; by the man who granted his inmost wish; and by the inevitable fifth, who was the keeper of his conscience..."

Yes, I totally agree with this!overorexactly13 wrote:I think that this new girl has been introduced because "The Creators" have realised the void left through the loss of Tachyon; and, rather than introduce a new girl to see the ceremony through to completion, this new girl is the catalyst initiating Bree's evolution into a Tachyon-like character.
