The Day Lonelygirl15 Died

Post by Elixir »

I, like many of you, fell in love with this series about ten months ago. I was intrigued by the characters, the hints of darkness and the occult, and I enjoyed the comical aspects of the show. It was a great formula. But I feel that this has all changed, and as LG15 continues, its quality has deteriorated. And now that Smosh has taken LG’s number one place on YouTubes most subscribed to list, I feel the need to commemorate this with an ode…

Bye-Bye Lonelygirl15

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How her faces used to make us smile.
And I know if we had a chance
That we would bring back the romance
And, maybe, we’d be happy for a while.

But April, well, it made us shiver
With YouTube left for new site Revver,
Bad news as the clock ticked,
I couldn’t take one more click.

I can’t say what made them slide
And I can’t say that they really tried,
But something touched us deep inside
The day Lonelygirl died.

So bye-bye Lonelygirl15.
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"This’ll be the day that I die."

Do you know how it came undone?
Or do you believe in the Hymn of One,
If OpAphid tells you to?
Do think that we should encrypt?
Or can this be saved with a quality script,
...And what exactly does Smosh actually do?

Well, I know you’re a true LG fan
`Cause I read your comments faulting them
From going out “on the run,”
Right through to Jonas getting a gun.

Bree was a lonely teenager, bored and stuck
With a pink feather boa and not much luck.
Who knew she’d want to drive a truck
The day Lonelygirl died?

We started singin’,
”Bye-bye Lonelygirl15.”
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"This’ll be the day that I die."

Now for ten months we’ve been watching close
As we try hard to make the most
Out of how this used to be.
Then when Smosh mimed to the Pokemon theme,
Subscriptions grew and they reigned supreme
And there was no voice from our friend Bree.

Oh, and while our queen was looking down,
The jesters stole her YouTube crown.
The tables, they had turned;
But only we seemed to be concerned.
And while the creators scratched their heads,
Focused on new girl, Jules, instead
We sang dirges in our dread
The day lonelygirl died.

We were singing,
”Bye-bye Lonelygirl15.”
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"This’ll be the day that I die."

An Ordite Helper in a summer swelter,
To taking refuge in a fallout shelter…
In second place and falling fast?
Has her fifteen minutes truly passed?
The creators tried for a show with class,
But instead they made a b-grade farce.

Now at times we have seen hope again
While honour has been almost regained.
And we all get up to dance,
Oh, but we never get the chance!
The creators took us to Mexico
But the old school fans refused to go.
Do you recall what was exposed
The day Lonelygirl died?

We started singing,
”Bye-bye Lonelygirl15.”
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation in cyber space
With no time left to start again.
We know the Tube is fickle, and it is thick
But we miss A. Crowley and that candlestick
And the hints that Bree’s dad is the devil’s only friend...

Oh, and as we watched her on the page
The plot holes filled up deep with rage.
No sense was recognised
As the whole thing went awry
And the Smosh fans climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw YouTube laughing with delight
The day lonelygirl died

They were singing,
”Bye-bye Lonelygirl15.”
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

She was a girl who sang with ‘grillz’
And kept us happy up until
’Proving Science Wrong’ had gone away.
We clicked her channel time and again
Where months before there were lots of fans
But the new videos weren’t even there to play.

And in the comments: the flamers screamed,
The firsters ‘first’, and we still dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
For all our hopes were broken.
And the three men with their 'original styles'
The creators; Greg, Mesh and Miles
They headed for the British Isles…
The day Lonelygirl died.

And they were singing,
”Bye-bye Lonelygirl15.”
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

They were singing,
”Bye-bye Lonelygirl15.”
Say so long to our favourite
Puppet handling teen.
As DanielBeast sits drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

this is awesome (though melancholy), elixir. thanks for sharing it here.

i love this one:
And the three men with their 'original styles'
The creators; Greg, Mesh and Miles
They headed for the British Isles…
The day Lonelygirl died.

Elixir, this is great (as far as your rhyme). I fear the creators have foresaken lonelygirl for KateModern with the knowledge of past mistakes in tow.

Kudos, Elixir! An awesome adaptation...

That's probably due to the fact that Elixir is pretty exclusively a Covite. So not too suspicious for a suspicious poster this time! ;)

What is the original version?
That was the weirdest display of geekdom that I have ever seen in my entire life.

I nominate this as the greatest post ever.
It made me feel so sad, though.
