Ah, they have used the idea, but only one videos like in Las Vegas during the drugged interrogation. Thats why TAAG was so clueless afterwards when everyone said "...Go watch the tapes!" and they were still like "Where were we?" So basically, its just an inconvenience to the viewers when trying to talk to TAAG.

Remember what happened just before they were going to start using the idea, though (it starts with "lost" and ends with "APHID").
