i know this is an old topic, but i have a friend here at school who's a transfer from australia for the semester. she's traveled all around the pacific and europe, and i asked her to listen to gemma's accent and try to place it.
she said gemma definetly doesn't sound like she's from new zealand, like our jess rose is. she said gemma sounds like a northern australian who's lived in england a while.
thought i'd just share that opinion from someone who has a similar accent and who's been around the block a bit.

She's lived in England for awhile hasn't she? Didn't Bree say when she was 8 or so, Gemma's dog was her best friend when she was staying in England? But people are saying she's originally from somewhere else? AH, I'm confused!
